I enjoyed Anna Kendrick’s directive eye in this movie. I liked how it alternated between Cheryl and her relationship to the dating show and Rodney and what he’s doing as a charming and personable individual. It was propulsive, and I liked that Kendrick didn’t follow a passive narrative flow but instead brought a sensibility to it. I was very pleasantly surprised!
