I was not prepared for how good this album is despite how long I had been waiting on it. Yebba manages to take elements of folk and R&B and her transcendent voice to create a melodic space drenched in grief and joy. Favorite Track: October Sky
Synopsis
Dawn is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Yebba. Reviewing the album for Variety, Jem Aswad wrote that on the album, Yebba "occupies a musical terrain somewhere between pop, R&B and, at times, 1970s jazz fusion, with tinkling electric piano and synthesizers that conjure flashes of Stevie Wonder's Fulfillingness' First Finale."
