I think other shows about women drinking wine and plotting murder are written by men who think they know what women will do when they feel murdery, but Sharon Horgan makes all the difference. There is so much storytelling balance between character and plot. They do Knox’s favorite thing: show me, don’t tell me. They nail so many things like sibling relationships, childhood trama, and dometic abuse, but not in an indulgent way. Even though it starts with a funeral, every episode you think you know how he died, but you don’t. You see how these sisters get there.
