Is this a corny adaptation of the Tom Hanks movie? Yes. Did my kids love it? Yes. Did I genuinely laugh out loud? Also yes. Tom Hanks will never make an appearance on the show so don't watch it for that. It's not the best-acted show ever, but I really like that they represented different types of characters not really shown on tv. The assistant dog handler is an Autistic character and they normalize him and celebrate him.
